Diagnostic test results (e.g. ECG observations, laboratory test results) are entered in free text format into Primary Results and Secondary Results. The Diagnostic Test Search Application assumes that the resulting medical web pages contain descriptions of possible diseases that match the diagnostic test outcomes.

These web pages are analyzed against the Disease Ontology by category of web site. These categories of web sites are defined and configurable in the Medical Knowledge Base.

The number of references to diseases found on the web pages is displayed as shown on the examples. The results are also shown by category of web sites so that these may be compared.
